JANUARY 2009

Monday, January 5:  The Senior Services Center reopens.

Some of our classes will meet permanently "off-site" (not in the central office/activity rooms). These are TAI CHI (Chestnut Hill Friends Meeting, 100 E. Mermaid Lane),  ITALIAN (St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 22 E. Chestnut Hill Avenue), WATER WORKOUT (Chestnut Hill College pool), early morning EXERCISE ("old" Chestnut Hill Village fitness room (across from the post office), PINOCHLE (The Manor (formerly Sunrise, 495 E. Abington Avenue).

 Tuesday, January 6:  All are welcome at Antiques & Collectibles, a sort of adult "show and tell" down memory lane. FREE

Monday, January 12: Bill Farmer is back and anxious to mold some more of you into good bridge players who enjoy playing thegame.     $65 /10 weeks $70 non-members

Monday, January 12: Intermediate and Advanced Italian will pick up where they left off in mid-December, moving two blocks toward the center of Chestnut Hill.                                         $90 / 14 weeks, $100 non-members

Tuesday, January 13: Pinochle was on an extended vacation.      Wed. Jan. 14 & Fri. Jan. 16: This term the Water Workout will last for 8gloriousweeks ..$100 /16 sessions, $110 non-members

Tuesday, January 20: Bring a brown bag lunch (the Center will provide dessert and beverages) and watch the Inauguration of Barack Obama and Joe Biden on our TV (if the construction is over & done with - call ahead).

Tuesday, January 27:  Once again, Soup's On ! Come at noon for lunch ($3 per person). Stay for a special treat at 1:00 ...

Friday, January 30: Meet at Woodmere Art Museum for a 10:30 docent-guided tour of the Lewis Tanner Moore collection of African American art.. $5 donation at the door.  

LOOKING AHEAD: Spring Fundraising Events:  

•1)Our annual Book & Bake Sale in a Chestnut Hill storefront on a Saturday in April, both to be determined. We start accepting donations of books in February.

2)  on Sunday, March 15 a matinee performance of The Stagecrafters production "Ladies in Retirement"   $30

Morris Arboretum Winter Symposium - "Native Landscape Design Exploding into the Mainstream"
