Doris Staffel (born 1921), a former student of both Philip Guston and Hans Hofmann, and a former colleague of Franz Kline, is one of Philadelphia’s preeminent abstract painters and colorists. Honoring her commitment to the art of Philadelphia, Woodmere will present the first exhibition to examine her entire career, as well as her first solo show in a museum. Learn more |

| 71st Annual Juried Exhibition: Artist Spotlight Series |

As part of the 71st Annual Juried Exhibition, Woodmere will feature articles written by artists on the Museum’s blog.
Check out the first article in the Spotlight Series by artist Jeff Gola. Jeff’s work, which he considers “expressive realism,” uses the quick-drying medium egg tempura. A slow meditative process, one painting may take two to five weeks to complete, working five days a week, and up to eight hours a day. Read More
