Hugh Gilmore owned and operated Gilmore’s Book Shop in Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia, for 12 years. The business now runs as Gilmore’s Books, without a shop. He is also the author of Malcolm’s Wine, a noir crime novel set in the rare book business. He writes a weekly column called “The Enemies of Reading” for the Chestnut Hill Local newspaper and maintains a blog calledenemiesofreading.blogspot.com. He lives in Philadelphia with his wife, the writer and actress, Janet Gilmore, and his talented son, Andrew.
