GETTING AROUND

To explore Chestnut Hill by foot, a printable map of the Chestnut Hill Historical Society Self-Guided Walking Tour is here.

Chestnut Hill is easily accessible by all major roadways in the area as well as Public Transportation via SEPTA.

VIA SEPTA REGIONAL RAIL

Use any Center City Rail Station (Jefferson Station, Suburban or William H. Gray III 30th Street Station) to board SEPTA’s Chestnut Hill East or Chestnut Hill West train to the last stop on either Line. For the Chestnut Hill East Station make a left turn out of the station and walk two blocks up Bethlehem Pike to Germantown Avenue. For the Chestnut Hill West Station, walk up the steps or the ramp directly onto Germantown Avenue.

Cash and credit card are accepted on board the train. SEPTA recommends using a SEPTA Key card to obtain best value. SEPTA Key is a reloadable, contactless chip card that offers a host of options for seamless travel and the self-serve flexibility of loading/reloading SEPTA fares to match your travel needs. You can purchase and reload one at Center City Regional Rail Stations (Temple University, Jefferson Station, Suburban Station, 30th Street Station and Penn Medicine Station) and at the Airport. Kiosks accept cash, credit, debit, tokens, Apple Pay, Google Pay, & Samsung Pay.

You can view train schedules here.
